VINGRIU SQUARE, VILNIUS (LT)

After two years of work, Vingriu Square was opened right next to the MO museum in Vilnius. Previously an abandoned area, the square has now become a popular attraction place of the city.

In the square you can rest on the benches, admire the water flowing from the Vingriu spring, enjoy a cup of coffee and view the exhibition of modern sculptures. In cooperation with the MO Museum and the Vilnius municipality, seven sculptures by Lithuanian contemporary artists are exhibited in the square. Some of them were created specifically for this square, considering its history. Between the 16th and the 20th century,  the Vingriu spring was used to supply the city with water.

The square is equipped with modern lighting, which attracts people to take a walk and spend more time here in the evenings.
